Logan arrived at the college and parked. After checking in, he made his way toward his dorm. Logan walked in to see one other boy in there, putting a poster up over his bed. The boy paused and turned to look at him. "Hey," he said. "You my roommate?" Logan nodded. "Looks like it." The boy finished putting the poster up and walked over. "Awesome. I'm Chase." He held his hand out to Logan. Logan shook it. "I'm Logan." "Nice to meet you," the boy said. "I hope you don't mind that I took that bed." "Not at all," Logan said, setting his suitcase down on the other bed. He looked at the poster over Chase's bed. "The marines, huh?" Chase looked at the poster then back at Logan. "Yeah. My dad was in the marines...he died doing what he loved. I want to follow in his footsteps....beside the dying part." Chase flashed a small smile at Logan. Logan smiled back. "You sound like my friend, Kendall," Logan said. "His dad was in the army. Not sure what part, I was too little. But he...he die! d, too." "Maybe they knew each other," Chase said, chuckling. "Small world." "Sure is," Logan said. "So you plan on joining the marines?" "Yup! I'm signing up in two weeks." "Then what are you doing here?" Logan asked, laughing. "I wanted to be able to say I lived in a dorm for at least a little while! You only live once, right?!" Logan laughed. "Right." Logan couldn't remember the last time he had laughed this much. He and Chase hit it off instantly. Honestly, it was like being with Kendall again ...
